Bus romance celebrated with personalised sign
A COUPLE who fell in love at a bus stop have been presented with their own personalised bus sign as a wedding gift.
Transdev Yellow Buses (TYB) arranged for the sign to be dedicated to the new ‘Mr and Mrs Woodbridge’ with the date of the couple’s wedding day – August 16, 2008 – placed where the bus numbers normally go.
Bride-to-be Leila Evans, 23, who first noticed her future husband Kieran Woodbridge, 20, while he was waiting for a bus, said: “I think the sign is absolutely amazing. We’re thrilled.”
Kieran, a personal banker with Barclays in Ferndown, added: “It’s fantastic, brilliant. How many couples have something like this?”
The couple, of Victoria Road, Ferndown, first met in May last year when Leila, who works in a Ferndown-based call centre, noticed Kieran at a bus stop. They started going out with Kieran eventually popping the question last Christmas.

Jenni Wilkinson, TYB’s Head of Marketing, said: “Leila’s step-father, Phil Barry, asked us if they could have a normal bus flag (as a sign is known in the bus industry) for the wedding reception.
“We thought we could go one better one than that and supply Leila and Kieran with their very own personalised version.
“It’s a first for us. We’ve never supplied anything like this before. It comes with our best wishes to Leila and Kieran for a very happy future together.”
The couple will be married at Ferndown Register Office on Saturday August 16 followed by a reception in Ferndown and a honeymoon in Dublin.
