Campaigners express delight at new hourly service
CAMPAIGNERS say they are “absolutely delighted” at a decision by Yellow Buses to launch a new hourly weekday service linking East Dorset and Bournemouth.

The bus company, which was named Shire Operator of the Year in the 2009 UK Bus Awards, is to launch its new route 29 next month.
The service will run hourly Monday to Saturday from 7am to 6pm. It will link Bournemouth town centre and the railway station with Winton, Moordown, Parley, Ferndown and West Moors.
Some of the areas covered have not had a regular direct weekday bus link with Bournemouth for more than two years after another operator withdrew its services.
The areas include West Moors, which is home to 7,000 people, and the Glenmoor Road area in Ferndown.
The new 29 will also serve Ferndown Industrial Estate during morning and afternoon peak times.
Jenny Winslade, who is the committee member responsible for bus issues on West Moors Local Action Group, said: “West Moors has been without a direct weekday bus service to Bournemouth since the autumn of 2007.
“We’re absolutely delighted that Yellow Buses is to launch this new service in April which will greatly benefit residents here.”
Marc West, YB’s Planning & Schedules Manager, said: “We have received many representations over the last two years to launch a new bus service linking East Dorset and Bournemouth.
“We are confident that there will be considerable demand for route 29 but, as always, the long-term success of any bus route depends on people using it.”
Full details of route 29, including timetable information, will be issued during the next few weeks. The new service officially begins on Monday April 19.
