Valentine's Day passengers wooed with cards and roses
PASSENGERS were wooed with cards and roses when Transdev Yellow Buses (TYB) marked Valentine’s Day in typically romantic style.

A five-strong team handed out 1,000 roses and cards in the centre of Bournemouth for the third year running. Cards were also placed on TYB’s 107-strong fleet of buses.
The specially designed card included a suitably corny verse penned by amateur poet Annie Chambers, of Wimborne, who won a TYB competition to ‘beat the bus bard.’
Her winning entry read:
We're so glad you decided to be with us today
It gives us another opportunity to say
We try to be smart and always on time
'cos nothing's too much if you're our Valentine.
So come for a ride or a trip on our bus
We'll treat you like royalty yet without too much fuss.
Give us a chance to show what we're like
And we guarantee it will be better than riding your bike!
Whatever you choose - have a great day
Let's hope it's by bus is all we can say.
Leave your worries at home and have a wee rest
Leave the driving to us - it's what we do best.
Jenni Wilkinson, TYB’s Head of Marketing, said: “Our Valentine’s Day promotion grows bigger every year and, without doubt, this has been our best yet.
“It’s a fun way of making the point that we’re grateful to people for travelling with us and to, please, encourage their relatives, friends and work colleagues to also get the bus habit. The reaction has been brilliant.”

Pensioner Phyl Cleare, 88, was among the people receiving a rose and card. “I travel on the Yellows all the time but this is a total surprise. It’s a lovely thought,” she said.
