Love was in the air when Transdev Yellow Buses used a combination of red roses and Valentine cards to woo new passengers.
ValentinesSeven thousand homes within walking distance of Ashley Road, Parkstone, Poole, received a Valentine’s card promoting the company’s 1b and 1c services.
The card, decorated in love hearts and titled ‘Will you be mine?’, included a six-line poem penned by Jenni Wilkinson, Communications and Marketing Manager.
Transdev Yellow Buses staff will also be handing out cards and more than 800 perfumed red roses to passengers waiting at bus stops along Ashley Road on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
The cards give users the opportunity to buy all day travel for just £2 on the 1b and 1c for Valentine’s Day.
The Valentine poem read:
‘I see you stand at the bus stop in line
I can’t help myself – I wish you were mine
To you I might just be the 1b/1c
But you are so very much more to me
I offer you more than just great frequency
You can also make savings when you travel with me
So please, give me a try, just hold out your hand,
I promise you this, our trip will be grand’
Mrs Wilkinson said the message to prospective passengers was simple – ‘We’d love you to travel with us.’
She added: “We thought that Valentine’s Day was a great opportunity to publicise the 1b and 1c which was extended when we relaunched out network last summer.
“It now has a frequency of ten minutes, operating between Poole, Bournemouth, Boscombe and Christchurch providing a fast, frequent and reliable service.”
Mrs Wilkinson added that, such had been the interest generated, the company now planned to run the promotion in another part of the Yellow Buses’ network next year.
