Yellow Buses has appointed Ed Wills as its new Operations Manager.
Aged 26, he is believed to be one of the youngest operations managers working for a major UK bus company.
Ed joins the Bournemouth-based Yellows – now part of Transdev – from Stagecoach in Cambridge where he was Assistant Operations Manager.
His new role sees him responsible for 270 drivers, 12 supervisors and a fleet of 107 buses and 14 coaches running services 20 hours a day.
A graduate of Southampton University, where he studied geography, Ed first became interested in the bus sector when he helped set up Southampton’s ‘uni-link’ transport service.
He worked for Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight and also Solent Blue Line before joining Stagecoach in 2003.
Derek Lott, Managing Director of Yellow Buses, said: “I am pleased that Ed has decided to join the Yellows and we’re delighted to welcome him on board.”
“ His energy and enthusiasm will help ensure Yellow Buses remains as the operator of first choice in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.”
Ed replaces Andy Hickisson who retired as Operations Manager in September after 36 years with Yellow Buses.
