Plans for new-look number 18 bus route unveiled

HOP aboard a revamped bus service linking communities from Broadstone to Bournemouth.

That’s the message from Transdev Yellow Buses (TYB) which is launching a new-look number ‘18’ bus service from October 29.

The company is picking up the reins from Wilts & Dorset which has decided to withdraw from the ‘18’ and ‘19’ routes.

The new ‘18’ service will run once an hour linking Broadstone, Poole’s Waterloo, Canford Heath and Foxholes’ estates, Upper Parkstone, Westbourne and Bournemouth from Monday to Saturday.

The first bus will be at 6.55am from Broadstone and the last bus from Bournemouth is at 5.45pm.

The ‘18’ will also be running through the Clarendon Road and West Way areas of Broadstone, currently Wilts & Dorset’s service 19. Consequently the number of journeys on the loop will increase from seven to ten.

TYB stepped in to run the route at short notice following an approach from the Borough of Poole.

Marc West, TYB’s Commercial Manager, said the ‘18’ service was particularly popular with commuters and college students.

“We are delighted to be able to assist the Borough of Poole in maintaining this important link as part of our ongoing commitment to providing a punctual, reliable, frequent and affordable service for the people of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch,” he added.
