Bus passengers give three cheers for increase in services

THREE cheers for Transdev Yellow Buses (TYB)!

Passengers on the company’s popular route 24 turned out in force to welcome the news that daytime services are to be doubled in frequency from next Monday, January 25.

The stretch of the route linking Alum Chine, West Cliff and Bournemouth town centre will have services every 30 minutes – instead of hourly – between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday.

“It’s absolutely wonderful news and will make a huge difference to our lives,” said regular passenger Bess Danby.

Fellow West Cliff resident Ann Chasteauneuf added: “Everyone is delighted. We’re all talking about it.”

Marc West, TYB’s Planning and Schedules Manager, said: “The ‘24’ along the West Cliff stretch of the route attracts a very loyal clientele. Indeed, some of our regular passengers have likened it to belonging to a club.

“The increase in daytime services on the ‘24’ is our response to an increase in passenger demand but, of course, the long-term success of any bus route depends on people continuing to use it.”
