Yellow Buses and Daily Echo looking for good causes

ARE you involved in a charity or good cause looking for a cash boost in these difficult times?

Then we’d like to hear from you as part of our Carbon Stoppers campaign, held in conjunction with the Daily Echo.

Each week the Yellows hold a ‘Thank You Thursday’ when every trip taken on the day contributes to a separately administered Community Chest.

We’ve pledged a minimum donation of £50 per week to the fund which is available to schools, community groups and good causes in its coverage area.

To date, a total of £4,550 has been raised which has been shared among 19 local charities and good causes.

They have received a minimum of £200 as well as having their work publicised in the Echo and on this website.

Jenni Wilkinson, Yellow Buses’ Head of Marketing, said: “Carbon Stoppers has made a real difference to charities and good causes across the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area.

“But we’re always looking for bona fide organisations to help out so if you fit the bill then it could be worth your while getting in touch.”

Charities, or good causes, wishing to put themselves forward should email [email protected] Please include a daytime telephone number.

Carbon Stoppers was jointly launched by Yellow Buses – named Shire Operator of the Year at the 2009 UK Bus Awards – and the Daily Echo in 2008. Carbon Stoppers was also ‘highly commended’ at the 2009 UK Bus Awards.
