Yellows’ driver first to strike gold twice

DRIVER Paul Robinson is the toast of Yellow Buses after becoming the first employee to receive two Gold Awards for the standard of his work.

The former window cleaner, who only joined the Bournemouth-based bus company three years ago, said he was “over the moon” with his achievement.

“I’m well chuffed. It’s all come as quite a surprise,” he added.

The Gold Award recognises excellent overall performance in a number of areas including driving, customer service and non-blameworthy accidents.

To date, 20 Yellow Buses’ staff have received the award but Paul is the first employee to come up trumps twice. He was presented with his first award earlier this year.

Recipients receive a framed certificate and £40 worth of shopping vouchers.

Presenting Paul with his latest award, Gary Corrie, Engineering Director, said: “This is a tremendous achievement and you have every right to be very proud.

“To get one Gold Award is special but to get two is quite exceptional.”
