ARE you involved or aware of a charity or good cause based around mothers? Then we’d like to hear from you as part of our innovative Carbon Stoppers campaign, held in conjunction with the Daily Echo.
Each week Yellow Buses, named Shire Operator of the Year in 2009 and 2010, holds a ‘Thank You Thursday.’ Every trip taken on the day contributes to a separately administered Community Chest.
We’ve pledged a minimum donation of £50 per week to the fund which is available to schools, community groups and good causes in its coverage area.
To date, a total of £6,170 has been raised which has been shared among 26 local charities and good causes.
Now the Daily Echo and Yellow Buses have agreed to hold an additional ‘Thank You’ day, just for Mothering Sunday, April 3.
It means that there will be a minimum £300 Carbon Stoppers cheque available to a mothers-based charity or good cause for the month of April.
Jenni Wilkinson, Yellow Buses’ Head of Marketing, said: “Mums have a special place in all our hearts.
“This is a great way of celebrating that as well as giving a much-needed cash boost to a local worthy cause.”
