YELLOW Buses (YB), the current Shire Operator of the Year, has been shortlisted again in this year’s UK Bus Awards.
The company, which operates services across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and East Dorset, is among seven bus operators in line for the prestigious national title. YB was also named Shire Operator of the Year in 2009.
The Shire Operator of the Year category is open to bus companies operating service networks wholly or mainly outside the UK’s major conurbations.
Entrants are judged on their performance in a number of areas including customer relations, employee relations, timekeeping and lost mileage, financial sustainability, risk assessment, environmental matters and social responsibility, partnership working and sustaining and expanding the market for public transport.
Jenni Wilkinson, Head of Marketing, said: “To be shortlisted again for a third year is a massive honour and reflects the teamwork that is behind all the innovation and success of the Yellows.”
Yellow Buses is also shortlisted in the Innovation category for its user-friendly journey planner, developed by the company in partnership with Bournemouth-based digital marketing company Base Creative Agency.
A total of 100 companies, individuals and organisations have been shortlisted from over 250 entries for this year’s UK Bus Awards.
The results will be announced on November 29 at an awards ceremony at London’s Hilton Hotel.
