Flagship 1b route takes a new direction from October 23

IT’S all change for Yellow Buses’ flagship 1b route this month.

From October 23, the high frequency service, linking Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch, will divert past the Bournemouth & Poole College in North Road.

It will then follow a route to include Ashley Cross, Castle Hill and Richmond Road before rejoining its former route through Upper Parkstone.

The Yellows have also announced that the frequency of the shared 1b and 1c routes will increase to every 7.5 minutes – instead of the current ten minutes – Monday to Saturday daytime from later this month.

Jenni Wilkinson, Head of Marketing, said: “This is great news for students at Bournemouth & Poole College who will now have easy access to our award-winning services.

“The 1c will still follow the route via Seaview previously served by the 1b so no passengers will miss out. It’s a win-win for everyone.”

The 1b route extension comes hot on the heels that Yellow Buses is to launch a new service linking Wimborne and Bournemouth from Monday October 24.

The 4d will operate Monday to Saturday with a daytime hourly service. It will follow a route which includes Wimborne Square, Merley, Canford Park Arena, Bearwood, Bear Cross, Kinson, Moordown, Winton, Bournemouth railway station and Bournemouth Square.

Timetables and maps for the new 1b route, as well as the 4d, will be available to download from the week commencing October 10 on the Yellow Buses’ website at www.bybus.co.uk
