Whether it’s raining or sunny Yellow Buses’ Mike Saul can be found in Bournemouth Square helping others – and his efforts have now been recognised.
Mike, who is easily spotted in his hi-vis jacket, won the Transport Delivery Award at the Bournemouth Tourism Awards 2015.
Mike is the Yellow Buses’ supervisor in Gervis Place that sees 60 Yellow Buses an hour come through.
He is always on hand to help passengers, give out bus times and has become a popular fixture with his ready smile and kindly nature.
The Tourism Delivery Award recognises Mike’s high levels of customer service, willingness to help and his all-round knowledge of local transport.
Mike Conroy, Operations Manager, said: “Come rain, hail or sun Mike will be there eight hours a day in the square helping people.
“He always has a smile on his face and has become incredibly well known in the town.
“He is a walking bus timetable and not just for the Yellows! And he ensures things go smoothly on the road through the square.
“Mike is approached by all sorts of people and he answers questions about accommodation, other modes of transport and he even gives out tourist information.
“Not only is he a great advert for Yellow Buses, but for the whole town and the award is really deserved.”
Mike Saul said: “I really enjoy the job being out there helping people and making sure things run smoothly.
“To win an award for it is very special and I’m extremely grateful.”
