Management Change at Yellow Buses

David Squire, Managing Director of Yellow Buses

After many years of loyal service to Yellow Buses, first as Finance Director and then as Managing Director, Andrew Smith has decided to move on to other challenges. He therefore relinquished his role on Friday 6th October.

RATP Dev, the parent company of Bournemouth Transport Limited (trading as Yellow Buses), were delighted to announce on 6th October, the appointment of David Squire as Managing Director of Yellow Buses with effect from Monday 9 October.

David has worked for RATP Dev UK for the last year as Commercial Director North West, in which role he has been successful in generating additional bus business for Selwyns Travel, another subsidiary of RATP Dev UK, and more generally positioning RATP Dev for bus franchising in the North West (i.e. Manchester and Liverpool). Prior to joining RATP Dev, David was the Managing Director of two de-regulated bus companies in England, Network Warrington and First Eastern Counties, and worked for many years in operational delivery at Arriva North West.

The UK provincial bus market is confronted by several structural challenges and these are compounded in the Bournemouth-Poole conurbation by significant road congestion. Faced with this unprecedented level of pressure, RATP Dev will be giving David Squire and his team its full support to retain Yellow Buses’ position as a standard-setting, competitive and profitable operator.

Tim Jackson, the CEO of RATP Dev in the UK and Ireland, said:

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew Smith for his tireless work for Yellow Buses and wish him well for the future. I am confident that David Squire and the team will bring a fresh perspective and commercial edge to the Bournemouth-Poole bus market and look forward to the company’s continued success”.
