Welcome to the home of Carbon Stoppers, our innovative initiative; which to date has raised almost £20,000 for good causes. Carbon Stoppers is thought to be the first of its kind in the UK bus industry.
Each week we have a ‘Thank You Thursday’ when every trip taken on the day contributes to a Community Chest.
We’ve pledged a minimum donation of £50 per week with the money available to schools, community groups and good causes. Readers of the Daily Echo, Bournemouth are invited to nominate a worthy cause or charity.
The almost £20,000 raised so far has gone to the following good causes:
Bournemouth Talking Newspaper, Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, Cherry Tree Nursery, Life Education Wessex, Hospital Radio Bedside, Waggy Tails Rescue, Bournemouth People First, Nile 20, Rebound Gym Club, Caring Canines, Pink Champagne Dragon Boat Team, S.P.R.I.N.G, Bournemouth Food Bank, Help & Care, thehub Goes Global, 2 Close Together, PHA-UK, Bournemouth Concert Brass, Everyman, East Dorset Alzheimer’s Society, Dorset Rape Crisis Line, Fernheath Play Association, Brendoncare, Diverse Abilities Plus, Coping with CHAOS, Dorset ME Support Group, Somerford Children’s Centre, Springbourne Family Centre, LV=Streetwise, Everyman, Vita Nova and Bournemouth & Poole Bipolar Self-Help Group, The Gunstone Trust, Wimborne in Bloom, Bournemouth Young Carers, Bournemouth Churches Housing Association (BCHA), Avonbourne College’s Shelley Project, La Leche League and Seabrook Seals Open Water Swimming Group, Poole and District Children’s Cancer Fund, Who Let The Dad’s Out, The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Crumbs, The Amelia-Grace Rainbow Fund, Pictures of Success, Mothers that Care, Jon Egging Trust, Home-Start South East Dorset, AJ’s Funtime, John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) and Beat Cancer Bournemouth.
